I think a lot of people confuse ‘buying happiness’ with being awarded for hard work. When you’re not extremely rich you’ll have to work hard, save up and wait to buy that special thing you want. Being able to afford something after hard work gives way more satisfaction than just right-out being able to buy it. That’s why ‘the grind’ in a lot of games are worth it (in your opinion), and once you’ve finished the grind you feel like there is nothing meaningful in the game anymore. And after a while, the ‘reward’ seems unimpressive because you’ve gotten used to it within a few days. For extremely rich people it’s hard to set those ‘goals’ to save up for something because they can just buy it whenever they please, eventually leaving them bored and unfulfilled.
That’s what I think at least, idk I’m poor af

I agree with CAN but not with WILL. Depends on what you need to be happy.

Naah, the secret of happiness is to lower your life expectations to current level and be happy about small things. Money on other hand removes reason why you are unhappy instead, e.g. lack money for medication, living and such.
So money does not give happiness, money removes life misery.

Of course you need to work to get rich, just not as employee! And yes money gives you a lot of peace as you dont have to worry so much. Until you have too much and need to worry that your employees might find a way to steal it.

I remember I had to go home when my friends would go out somewhere because I had no money, that was pain.

Financial security provides you with freedom and liberty - which is helping with being happy... always striving for shiny things will not make your happy despite of how many you already got!

Money increases happiness up to the point where you have enough to meet basic living needs and not be in debt, beyond that it has no impact on long term happiness.
