The politics aside, you have to give China credit for what it was able to accomplish in a matter of 40 years. It started modernizing in the early 80s and went from being yo-mama sized Cuba to an enormous superpower enough to rival USA and is a major regional superpower. Again, not talking politics or anything else. The fact that they absorbed, learnt, and implemented so many modern infrastructure and technology in such a short period of time is a feat in itself. Not a single African or South American nation was able to do any of that in such a short period of time, actually, not a single 3rd world nation has been able to attain that kind of status in recent history
