What I hate is that this song is a rip off of a German viral video of 14 years ago, yet the original is forgotten in obscurity. https://youtu.be/olhczmTbB4I

Rhythmically, the song is easy and energetic enough for kids to enjoy but also complex enough to be appreciated for adults compared to other nursery songs. Play the do do do parts on a kick drum, it's actually a really cool polyrythm switching between up beats and down beats. The shark intros instead are simple melodies, which sets up those complex polyrythms. Short enough to hold attention, but long enough to allow tempo and mode changes to not get stale during the song, as well as simple enough to have different versions and alterations without feeling forced. No lie, baby shark musically hits that sweet spot for kids and adults. Fairly certain, on the first hearing no one actually dislikes the song because its pretty good. The hate only comes from overplay and bandwagoning, as with any popular songs, but the music itself isn't half bad. Oh and most importantly of all, my kid enjoys it so I enjoy it.
