5 hours is still shit, 4 hours is just perfect, much better than 8h+.

Other way around for me. Also waking up at 3 after 8 hours of sleep is the best.

Ah naw. Waking up at 11am or 12pm feels the worst since the creeping realization of "fuck theres only like half the time left to do stuff" hits right away. Instead waking up at 5 or 6am might feel tiring but the amount of satisfaction knowing there's more the time to just relax and do stuff without rush is far more rewarding.

AFAIK, there are a part of the population that, no matter how hard they try, have difficulty waking up early, or late for another part. Internal clock and stuff, it seems to be for a significant part genetic. I'm not an expert, I just done some quick search to see if I'm not saying complete bullshit, but it seem to be the case.
At the very least, from my personal and anecdotal evidence, I've tried to be an morning person several time, for several month, without any success. I can sleep a full 8 hours with a REM cycle tracking to not wake up at the wrong time and it's to no avail : getting up is a choir. I sleep 6, even 5 hour and get up at 10, I'm full of energy, be it for work or leisure. I reckon it's the same, but the other way around, for early birds.
It's kind of shitty that the work environment is dead set on starting early.

not for me.
If I go to bed after 11pm I am fucked the next day, no matter how long I sleep.
I think cycles are different for each person.
Also you can get used to some new schedule if you really need. The key is consistency.
You will feel like shit for weeks, until you get used to your new schedule.
