Well, they are basicly psykers so they indeed have place. Even SW lightsabre was transfered to 40k. Eisenhorn had one.

I like the meme. but the conclusion is wrong imo. A jedi would be like a psyker fighter who is somewhere between an imperial guard general and a space marine librarian with a power sword. with a specific psychic power that moves objects. so I guess a "low tier" jedi could move an ork buggy and smash it, but a higher level jedi could ram a tank into another tank. Yoda level (named character jedi) could move something larger. and there was that sith who once stopped a star wars imperial ship. the ones that are the size of 1/2 or 1/4 of 40k battlefleet ships
Its true that 40k beats star wars in most regards (besides space travel. they travel in parsecs swiftly and we travel through hell and maybe get lost a few thousand years) but its not like its a clearly overwhelming force. more 1:3. or more accurately 2:7 relation. I'd say.

jedi already have trouble with slug thrower weapons (basicly assaukt rifles) in SW.
instinctively deflecting a bolt round would be pretty nasty.
and it‘d be a matter of months until the deathwatch would create beskar rounds.

jedi masters are just inquisitors in 40k.

OP You do realise that this solution is the same as burning down your house to kill a spider

Jedi? Maybe. But someone like Valkorian would have a fucking field day in 40k.

Aktchualy, they couldn't deflect lasgun shots. The blaster shots in SW are not laser shots, but smth more akin to plasma shots or pulse shots. A cloud of superheated gas, contained by a magnetic field. And because of the field, those shots can be deflected by the jedis own field contain the blade of his sword
