Just shoot me, if I require an amublence and hospital stay, just shoot me, dig a hole and chuck me into it. I don't need a fancy coffin either

highly unnecessary. debt isn’t inherited in the US. if you’re spouse dies with a debt, then the debtors personal estate, insurance, and assets are used to satisfy as much of the debt as legally possible. A debt collector can not take the surviving spouses property or financial assets. getting a divorce was not necessary, simply transferring all assets to the spouse would have been enough. the only way a surviving family member or spouse assumes responsibility of the debt is if they co-signed the contract. so, either we aren’t seeing the full story or shes full dog poops.

So you believe that you should be able to rack up whatever debt you choose and when you die, that debt just *disappears*?

Could've died and made her a widow instead of a divorcee. But no.
