I like mysterious elven food as much as the next guy, but what about Roaring fires, malt beer and ripe meat off the bone?

i mean it makes sense as they got older they got wiser and less prone to conflict

Wood elves, boat elves, og elves

The reason behind this is, that Tolkien portraits different cultural groups here. In the Hobbit the group are the "nandor elves" and in the silmarillion a great part is about the "noldor elves"

Quick question, is the Silmarillion worth to read? I loved the hobbit and Lord of the rings books, but I heard the Silmarillion isn't as easy to read, but I really want to know more deeply the lore

Hobbit and LOTR explore different kinds of Elves.... and second, in Silmarillion we are talking about the first elves over a long period of time. Elves by Tolkien are High Elves, Wood Elves and Sea Elves. From what I remember, the Wood or High Elves of middle earth were corrupted and became orcs, and the only the Sea Elves survived... i know that the High Elves retreated to their home continent that is much smaller, sort of like Australia is to Eurasia. Also men come from Numenor and used to be sort of like Elves but more rugged and not immortal, only had very long lifespans. Aragorn for example is very very old compared to how he looks.
Yea 4 real what elve nowadays would have the balls to walk directly to Angband and ask for a one vs one fight against Saurons Master, Morgoth...
