Easy trick: leaen german first and just take the opposite of the german gender. It's mostly correct.

Laughs in german. Bus is male, bus stop is female and bus ticket is neuter. There are hundreds of stupid examples that doesn´t make any sense. In german language "Das Bus" just sounds stupid. "Der Bus" sounds way better.
