It is some kind of economic stimulus package as well. If the opponents have similar weaponary as you, you have always a good reason to develop new and more capable weapons.

They left behind equipmemt for a multitude of reasons, a major one of them being that they needed specialized transport to take it back, which they had planned to send within a month after the soldier extraction. You can't put guns and ammo on a commercial flight, let alone tanks. Everyone, even government experts and scholars, were shocked that it took the Taliban a few days to take it over. Abandoning the equipment to them was an unforseen incident, and would have happened whether we were following Biden's plan or Trump's plan, because this was not a political conspiracy but an accident.

They didn't leave it. It was payment from Biden to the Taliban plain and simple. It also leaves Biden an excuse to go back in with the full military to start another money laundering war there again

It's not too expensive to bring back but cheaper to produce new stuff

the biggest polute on earth is the american military and nato - first then comes china.

From what I know. That was supposed to be for Afghanistan to defend themselves against Talibans, But they just decided to quit. Definitively a risky (and probably really stupid) move but not intended to end up that way.

It's just perfect story for money laundering billionaires always doing in the US army. You now can write off any amount of weapons as lost in Afghanistan and launder unlimited money which were "paid" for it.

Or planes ,who are cheaper to flight than to keep it land and pay for parking And they talk about carbon footprint ....

You realise companies do that shit all the time with very little consequence right? In most places fines are just another expense to add to the liat

I think it is entirely believable that these items were left behind on purpose, and maybe even planned to be left behind. But I am also aware thats conspiracy theory
