Nothing wrong with asking advice and getting an example of how you don't want to become.

Whaa? I mean... Yea... Isn't that what you do.... Is there some lore im missing or just haven't watched it so much that im missing plot?

That was the only part of the show that got up my nose, when he went Avatar-shopping until he got the answer he wanted.

Who here thinks adult swim should make an Avatar series based on avatar KYOSHI?

Water avatar: Sometimes you must act, even if it pains you... Fire avatar: Learn from my mistakes, don't let your feelings blind you... Kyoshi: Yo, yo, yo kill that madafaka!

It's a mistake he immediately realized after saying to Momo, "I never should've asked Kyoshi" meaning this post is only pointing out the mistake and not the realization of learning from the mistake

I mean, he even says that himself afterwards." I knew I shouldn't have asked Kiyoshi!" The point of that scene is that he's looking for an excuse, not advise. It's why he keeps asking every time an Avatar, tells him to kill Ozai, to find someone that will agree with him so he can feel justified in his principles. I actually really like this scene, but it's undermined by the lion turtle completely invalidating what his scene represents. Sometimes there are no neat solutions. Sometimes you have to make difficult solutions. Energy bending is too convenient, and makes me suspect the ending was rushed or changed.
He was actually seeking advice from former Avatars to solve a problem. Kyoshi's solution was to unapologetic obliterate the problem. is always good to listen to different opinions.
