As my mother likes to say: "I love animals, but from afar." She may be a bit exaggerated because she's somewhat scared of them, and a bit of a germophobe, but I do agree with her. I'll pet them, play with them, and then wash my hands properly. As lovely as they are, animals are animals. Animal germs are totally different from human germs; it's better not to take risks.
