surely if you travel at the speed of light (nothing in the known universe travels faster than light) then everything is within reach? ..given enough time we just need to build an entire planet that we can steer around at light speed... no biggie

we are assuming our distance calculations are accurate there. If I am not mistaken, the further something is away from us, the larger margin of error for the distance.
