Hi, Christmas tree salesman here. I've talked about this with multiple of our suppliers and it's mostly bullshit. While some amount may survive, very often they just plain don't. If you follow strict instructions than they have a decent chance, but in that case you only keep it inside for max one week and a ton of other shit too. It's often just a marketing gimmick to charge you more Though surely there's one or two companies that also do it well

Just buy a good plastic tree and keep it for years.

Thats not really new, in Germany we have similar Companies

There are so many styles of high quality fake trees that don't shed(?) and house insects, why bother with this?
