If true, this would be illegal in Europe because of tying sales laws. It could however well be that using a normal USB-C cable results in slower loading. I'm sure a lawsuit would follow if this would be the case in Europe.

It's obviously fake (there are no Android USB-C cables). Also it looks like from the Apple ads with white charger and all. But I understand that many people believe it, since it's something Apple would certainly consider.

I test cables as part of our compliance testing, For passive cables : OWC, Belkin, Apple and CableMatters For active cables : CalDigit, CableMatters, Startech and Yes apple. If you want quality you gotta pay more, and these brands actually follow the USB standards.

Sony had special usb cable... any cable worked for charging, data transfer or w/e, but only with sony cable you ware able to update firmware. Idk of they are still like that.

There are probably another 100,000 devices using Type-C charging apart from Android phone. Android cable? Joke is not even clever. There is no such thing an Android cable. May work better if "Non-Apple USB Cable detected".

There is no android usb-c cable. However, there is no single standard usb-c, there are like 10+ different ones, depending on speed and current limits, length, etc...
