Sentience

Sentient means to register sensations? Then almost everything is sentient. A balloon registers the sensation of being poked and therefore pops. The keyboard registers the sensation of a button press. The plastic bag registers sensations of touch and crumbles. And all plants would of course be sentient too. Here is a more fitting definition in my opinion: "sentient: able to perceive or feel things."
