Most games are so fckng big bc many publishers still use pre rendered cutscenes (sometimes in 4K) that are not looking much better than the ingame graphics. And compressing them would lead to compress artifacts that make the cutscenes ugly af.

I vote that if there's nothing left to do other than to compromise, release the game as the size that it is, games are getting more and more detailed and bear a much larger file size. It should the hardware/ console creators problem to keep up with the ages

99.99% of the times in IT and programming the following rule stands: -if something sounds dumb, and you can think of a dozen better ways to do it; >you're wrong and missing a giant piece of the puzzle >this actually IS the best way to do it, the programmer behind it spent a week on it at least.
