Well, that book started the genre in the first place. A must read for all cyberpunk nerds. Try "Snow Crash" by Neal Stephenson, it's from the 90s, its a bit faster paced and has some cool ideas!

He's the daddy. Mona Lisa Overdrive and Burning Chrome were good as well, although Burning Chrome is a collection of short stories. But as far as Neuromancer goes, reading that book is like seeing the Matrix. The Wachowsky's definitely took a few pages from that book. Even the kid entity at the end is like Neo meeting the Architect in the Matrix. Read William Gibson's version of Alien 3. You will love it. shame it didn't got made.

Fantastic book. But I love the sequels even more. The entire trilogy is worth reading.

It is a good book but can be hard to follow at times. Since no one had any idea or concept of the internet when it was written, it is described as a very dreamlike landscape which could get confusing combined with the fact that a lot of words and phrases are " made up ". I liked it but it could be a hard read.

One of the classics I have not enjoyed reading very much. Maybe I was too familiar with cyberpunk at that time to be stunned by it. I would prefer Altered Carbon (book) over it every time.
