Explains why world leaders are so scared of and are actively trying to suppress memes....
Because they are the simplest and purest form of an idea or truth and they cant distort them to their own means especially because they find themselves crucified on the cross of memes for their own stupidity and hypocrisy. And they cant stand being their own pariah!

C.G. Jung (founder of Analytical Psychology) coined the term Archetypes long before Dawkins figured it out. Dawkins called it memes. The only difference is that Jung's perspective is holistic, highly empirical, historically driven and was part of his life's work. Dawkins, although a clever dude, never explored "memes" (=Archetypes) in enough depth and came from a very biological perspective which severely limits his perspective on things. Jung evolved this to a whole psychological theory even before Dawkins was born.
Fun fact- Terence McKenna was heavily influenced by C.G. Jung.
