99% of managers are just making decisions they don't understand but do it strongly as to maintain confidence. They don't get that it quickly errodes the confidence of the people who work with them. The honest way is difficult to apply because you have to compete with bullshitters who seem to have better result on the short term, but with the right approach, if you give it some time, people understand your worth.
