I got punished with 3 promotions and my salary doubled from where I started. I get the argument and there are shitty companies for sure but instead of whining, leave, find another job. This system is far from perfect but at least you have a choice

don't report problems when you got ptsd, when you get bullied again your physical health might suffer heavily for it

Do not try to improve. Do as the boss says, no matter how stupid the idea is.

"The reward you get for being good at digging holes is a bigger shovel" - Terry Pratchett (not the exact quote)

Some companies do that, they Will give you more responsibility and things to do. If you succeed, you get promoted. But some Jobs are dead ends, so invest your energy in a company that deserves it

dont go beyond what was task to you, you need to have a work ticket/job order before you mess someone else's code

i work hard all the time, but i got a coworker who litarelly does nothing. now a better position is vacant and managment dont want to let me go as they need me and they dont mind sending the lazy one to promotion just to get rid of him

I got punished with more work but I wasn't afraid to ask for more, hence why I make 23$ an hour putting shit on shelves while they hire people for 6$ less. Never compare your work to others when arguing for salary, promote your own achievements as a reminder of a good worker you are and if they refuse to pay you more, start applying elsewhere. I always gave my 100% at 12$/hour and any potential employer who calls for references will only have good replies. Your reputation will follow you.

find a job where performance is mesured and is connected to your salary
Any company that says "we are family" is automatically going to FUCK YOU OVER.
