Fact: Because of those gender rules back then, when the Titanic sank, women were more likely to survive than man. A woman in third class had a higher chance of being rescued than a man who was a first class passengers. On multiple occasions men had been dragged out of lifeboats that were not even full yet. Those lifeboats launched with women and children half-full.

Women and children first were primarily because women are often the keeper of the home and children, however a single father with a child would be granted a lifeboat because that would mean he was the primary keeper of the home/child. I never really thought it was because of any other reason that women and children would be first, but I guess you're right

Gender equality arguments and advertisements are hypocritical. They're majority of women yet if it were true gender equality, it would involve both genders.
