I'm not saying Gary committed suicide But there have been cases where person has shot themselves twice or more in the head while trying to commit suicide. It's surprisingly not uncommon for person to survive the first shot that has been aimed badly. I know two people who survived their first (and only) shot, one was alive for days suffering and other walked out of hospital but always will have the reminder hole in their head. You can Google about research (yes, there is some) about multiple shot suicides.
