if any of this is true, doubt it has anything to do with them being good people. i would rather suspect it's a push from some oligarchs (seeing their buddies 'suicide' themselves recently and losing money) alongside some ambitious elements in the government/FSB with a little push from the west ... wanting to weaken putin's position and change the regime.
