Yes, but now it makes no sense that the people won't react in any way. However ... it stays a stupid scene.

What was the point of this scene? Sometimes I want to have skip 10seconds button in theaters.

I think the shot sounds different if fired inside the mall due to acustics

Pistols are simply loud. Even if you make the most perfect suppressor ever that would bring the firing sound to zero, there would still be a sound from the gun's mechanism moving, which is relatively loud if heard in quiet spaces. So the ''pew-pew'' scenes in movies simply can't be realistic, at least not with usual guns that are used in those scenes (beretta 92, glock, whatever). And suppressors can only really work on sub-sonic ammo, because if its' supersonic, there would be a loud crack even if firing sound was nonexistent.

in indoors I thought it would be loud impactful tick or tack without bang-bang pew-pew and more like pack-pack

9mm handgun average decibel : 120-160 db With suppressor (at best) : 20 - 45 db. Common talking is around 30db. So yeah, in a public space, with a lot a echoes, this scene can be realistic.

Idk something like a subsonic, silenced 0.22 is really quite. Then again they aren’t using one in this scene. Maybe it’s just a statement to todays society. Because if this is something like the NYC metro, then I‘d totally buy the fact the people do notice the shots and just don’t care.
