Yeah, nothing new... Really good boys feel like they have to save it from you. He will carefully try to get it just to move it away from you, so you can't squeak it anymore.

My ferret lowed squeaky toys. He would grab and stash them. Turnes out the pitch from a squeaky toy is the same pitch as a baby ferret crying, so instinct tells the ferret to bring it to it’s nest.

Squeaky toys can be bad for certain dogs. For example, if I give my dog squeaky toys to play with it will learn that squeaking means biting. Next time he will get in a dog (or any other animal) fight or even a playful fight, and the ‘opposing’ dog squeaks, your dog might bite or bite harder. But that is one of those ‘far fetched 1 in a million’ scenario’s that could pretty much only happen to very unstable dogs.
