Yes and no. You can manipulate the air flow with the building shape and with other variables. Sadly it’s not as easy as it’s shown here

Hey, I used to volunteer on a tree farm and we have often used trees and shrubs to redirect wind. I think this picture might be an oversimplification but it definitely explains the concept correctly.
