Because you come from a stable family where you were taught values, received proper education (and even correction when needed) and as a result you can easily differ a game from reality..

When I was 9y I played Painkiller (Video Game) and watched Blade etc and even before that I played Alien Trilogy on PS1 when I was 6. Recently when my aunt came with my liitle cousin 4y or 5y he wanted to play something and I don't have games for childrean so I installed Painkiller Hell & Damnation. Later she was mad at me for letting him play something so violent and I don't know why, I grew up on violent games and I still didn't murder anyone.

Watching violence in a safe environment and really being confronted to violence is not the same thing. While you might have undergone some desensitization, you most likely went through some beneficial catharsis, if anything.

If these people could be bothered to google sociopaths, they could see that bad experiences are required not enjoyable video games... (Simplistic answer, google details ourself.)
