So. Most yards will buy a 700 pound engine [which iz on the heavier side for a v8] for roughly $56 [with today's average price] . They'd usually sell a scrap engine for $200 to 300 unless it's something special or above average, which could be $300 to 500. If it's something more rare and desired, like a diesel, even in shit condition, you could see 1000 to $5000 for a pick up truck duty engine. Obviously more when you start getting into machinery and bigger haulers
