A man who's body is as solid as steel, suddenly grabbing a kid at ultra max speed would demolish that kid in a much worse way as if that train hits the kid, the only way for him to Dave the kid is to stop the train in NOT in suden way that would kill every single passenger in it, the struggle in his face isn't for having a rough time stoping the train, but doing everything but outmost perfection so tht nobody dies.
