Ambigrams can be rotational (as is the case here) or axis mirroring. They do not need to form the same word in its counterpart. They are incredibly popular in advertising and marketing and horizontal-axis mirroring ambigrams are incredibly common in black metal logos while rotational ambigrams are popular with metalcore logos. They're also frequently encountered paired with or as palindromes.
