it's because of this kind of shit that tomato don't have any taste.
Today tomato have been selected to resiste chock, don't bruise, bounce or roll, in order to be able to be harvest by machine.
(in my country we call it "square tomato", because they don't roll when put in a stale)
This selection is being done at the detriment of the taste. Those tomato have the taste of plastic.
Bonus intel: On tomato, the tomato arroma is produced by the same process who make the tomato rot. So if you want a tasty tomato, you have to take the risk the tomato might start to rot at some point. Aka don't stock it into the fridge, and buy variety of tomato where you occasionaly see rotting( not mold, ROTTEN) on the stale.
