In my county the homes are minimum of 400k for a 2 bedroom home. Which the price has doubled since 2010. Just blue state things.

So you failed to learn how life works in your teens and twenties. It's tough growing up when you're in your thirties.

Houses were cheaper and all in the 80s yes, but at some point you have to start thinking for yourself too. Yes, houses in the city are expensive ($1.2M average where I grew up in Vancouver) but houses in small towns are still affordable. I think this is the way the government ensures small towns don't fail and that enough people and in them to extract the nearby resources. I live in a small town 3 hours from a city of 1M and 40 minutes from a city of 100k and houses here are on average $250k which is still a lot, but not that much really. The median Canadian pay is around $60k, so this is around 25% of the family income by that standard which is acceptable. Just stop whining and accept you're not in the upper echelon but instead you will be a pawn, move to small town. If you're in your 40s and you still haven't figured that out then maybe it's metal problems that you have.
