Which button?

I work in a restaurant with a similar push button to exit, trust me even with all that you get people asking you "excuse but i can't get out"

You need guiding lights and more arrows that success would be at least 50% I speak from experience.

To be fair.. Without the signs I'd absolutely ignore it.

I still dont get it

The "in emergency, push to open" my say that there's a fire alarm if you push the door without pushing the button first

The problem with signs is that if you oversaturate an area, it also gets ignored. Your brain will just tune it out

I would take that as a challenge and try to open it without pressing the button.

I guarantee you people still try to push the door first. When you try to idiotproof something, humanity creates a better idiot.

I need to leave through this door, that makes it an emergency because it involves me, so I should push the emergency bar to exit. Makes total sense.
