60k usd netto a year is still good income, in Europe at least
As a freight truck dispatcher, I agree. They have unbelievable expances and I have no idea why they just don't stop for a couple of days to have more demand and therefore better rates eventually. The railroad fucked them real hard for the past year as well.
If that’s true, why don’t you change the job?
Fuck the state
So the question is how do we tax the remaining 60k usd.
Trucks also do 85% of the road damage while making up 17% of all traffic in the US
Do you know why they pay more for the road? Because they deterioate it 10,000 times more than cars
The amount of people in the comments that don't understand the basic "revenue - costs = profit" equation is too damn high. Everyone is looking at the 500K number and immediately getting their single neuron activated. RICH MAN TAKES 440K FROM POOR TRUCKER.
They pay more for the roads, because they weigh 10 tons. They pay toll tax, because a lot of the roads they pass are private own - which is more of a service fee and everybody does that when using private roads. They pay a fuel tax, because fuel has a tax since its extracted from the ground and the government has a lot of investment in that and its refineries, and again everybody else pays it. After that there is profit tax – which again everybody pays it Try having a small business that makes 500 000/year and let me know how much you are left with.
