Reminds me of a soviet submarine captain that also averted a crisis like that. Kinda sad I havent seen american examples though, if they exist, why they arent reminded more often, and if they dont, why not?

The biggest bullshit I have seen in the days. Other than that, the most funny part of the Caribbean crisis story is the White House took at seriously and really was afraid of a nuclear war, while the Kremlin were in a pretty high mood, joking around and go to theater that day.
